The intellectual framework of our museum is a direct extension of the unique vision of its founder, Dr. Bernard Wong, a distinguished physician who applies a doctor's diagnostic precision to the narrative of human progress. His collection, which dissects a century of technological and industrial evolution across Europe and China, is anchored by a significant local collection from Hong Kong's historic 'Yu Garden'. However, this historical diagnosis is not an end in itself; its ultimate purpose is to inform our future. Dr. Wong's founding mission is born from a deep concern for the next generation and the trajectory of technological development. He believes that by providing a clear understanding of historical cause and effect, we can empower young minds to become the innovators of tomorrow. This will be achieved through rich public education programs within an environment designed for intimacy and dialogue. The exhibition space will eschew the formality of a traditional gallery, instead cultivating the atmosphere of a 'collector's lounge'—a welcoming setting where curiosity is sparked, and conversations about our past and future can flourish.
