The Phonoautograph is  the first device invented to record sound was developed in 1853 by a French inventor. It etched sound waves onto paper depicting a visual recording of sound. Though it did not play it back, this laid the foundation for Thomas Edison’s 1877 invention, the Phonograph, which revolutionised audio recording. He famously recorded "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and played it back, he even exclaimed, "This machine can talk!"—marking the dawn of audible recorded sound. Today, we stream music from the cloud, which is available anytime, anywhere.
