SEWING MACHINES

Long before modern technology, our ancestors stitched together animal skin and leaves for clothing using needles made from fish bones, stone, and metal. The first real breakthrough came in 1790 when England introduced the world’s first leather-sewing machine, which used a dual-needle system—punching holes first, then threading them together. By 1830, France had developed the first foot-operated sewing machine. Looking back at these innovations makes us wonder: What’s next for sewing machines?

若典藏品是博物馆的心脏,教育则是博物馆的灵魂,没有实质教育意义与功能的博物馆,就有如空有躯壳的植物人。
